FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions

What types of temperature do you offer?

Beach Yoga & Wellness is the first and only studio that offers a variety of heated classes. We believe that everyone is different and unique. And since we are all not cookie cutters… and we all have our own special needs, wants and goals, we have created a studio that caters to our loyal members. That’s why we have designed our studio to offer our members 4 different types of heated classes. Our studio is a Far Infrared Studio. Here’s why Beach Yoga is such a rare and special studio:

  • Non-Heated
  • Mild Heat
  • Warm Heat
  • Hot Heat

How hot does the hot classes get to?

Our hot classes can get up to 38 degrees, but the temperature feels absolutely amazing! It really feels like you are doing yoga on the Beach, that is why our company is called Beach Yoga! Our state of the art system allows you to detoxify 7 times more than regular hot yoga studios that just blow hot air at you using conventional heaters. This means that you are sweating out toxins and not just water. The infrared heats your body from the inside out, so it pulls out the toxins at a cellular level.

Is this for beginners?

Our classes are catered for all levels. The majority of our members are brand new to Yoga, Pilates and sometimes even fitness. And because our members stick with us for years and years as their fitness level increases we also offer a great variety of intermediate and advanced levels. We have classes that range from gentle restorative, which is great for anyone who suffers from injuries, depression, high levels of stress or anxiety, right up to Power Yoga and High Intensity Cardio, which is designed for athletes and people who love and crave workouts intensity in their classes.

What do the Trial packages cover?

Our trial packages covers basically all classes on our schedule. This includes early morning classes, Insanity, PiYo, Restorative classes and every other class you see. It includes non heated classes, mild heated classes, warm classes and hot classes. If we do have a Specialty Program on our schedule that is not included, it will be clearly marked so that you will know in advance. This may include programs, workshops or events, such as Yoga Teacher Training, or and so on.

What do I need to bring to class, and how can I make my experience enjoyable?

For the first class, we recommend that you arrive 15-20 minutes early, because you will need to meet your instructor, sign some forms & get settled in before class starts. Please bring with you your yoga mat, a bottle of water and a towel. Be sure to dress comfortably (yoga pants, capris or shorts and a yoga top or tank top is good). All classes are done bare feet, except for the Insanity classes, which you are required to bring a clean pair of indoor only (non-marking) training shoes. It is extremely important that these shoes are not worn outdoors, as they bring dirt and bacteria into the yoga studio, and I’m sure you can understand that this is simply not accepted. We do everything we can to make sure our studios are kept clean and dirt-free, and we ask for your co-operation when attending Insanity classes.

Eating before class

Please be sure to keep yourself hydrated before and after class. If you are hungry before class, eat something nice and light an hour prior to class (like an apple or a small salad). Heavier meals should be eaten a few hours before class. Trust me, if you eat something big and heavy before class, you will not feel good! Follow these simple guidelines and you will get the most enjoyment out of your class.
